Doing my weekly  Shopping, when suddenly the woman next to me was at her breathe, screaming on a vendor and the vendor on the otherhand was screaming back. I really didn’t get their issue though, all I heard was, ayaw panakit! (don’t hurt!) hhehehe hope my translation is right, I mean the woman says, “Don’t hurt people”.

I do not have that chismosa (gossiper) nature and so I head on and bought pork meat and just saw the woman leave and the vendor was still on a loud voice like “I can go back to jail just to get back on you” Nyah! Scaryyyyy.. maybe he was just kidding and then I continued my shopping.

Bought some squid, sea weeds (latu) like the green thing. Then some veggies and hurried home and cooked some adobong pusit with oyster sauce. Yummy!

That’s it for the day! And good news, I’ve decided to put on some Bisaya – English  Translation relevant to my post.

This weekend we will be spending All Saints Day and All Souls Day at my hometown in Mati City, Davao Oriental that’s about four hours with a bus from Davao City.

Hmmm missing my mother–hood ahihihih. No kidding aside, we will be visiting our mother’s grave since me and my brother are based here in Davao City. We lost her due to Cervical Cancer that was January 26, 2000. But still, she visits us, through our dreams! hehhehe thought of something else? I miss mama Nida! hayyyy. How would it be like if my mother is still around? I missed those times and envy others who gets to hug, kiss and enjoy their moms. But anyway, life gets no stops and pause. Live life and learn to treasure people.

Another thing, we will be visiting our lola’s place too and other relatives. In a year, we go home once or twice a year. Its hard to go home for several reasons. I’m sad about that, but looking forward to visiting them again.

And also, I am expecting pinches from my aunts and uncles whom I think misses me for my wackoness and childishness. ahhhhh..

NEW OFFICE POLICY

Dress Code:
1) You are advised to come to work dressed according to your salary.
2) If we see you wearing Prada shoes and carrying a Gucci bag, we will assume you are doing well financially and therefore do not need a raise.
3) If you dress poorly, you need to learn to manage your money better, so that you may buy nicer clothes, and therefore you do not need a raise.
4) If you dress just right, you are right where you need to be and therefore you do not need a raise.

Sick Days:
We will no longer accept a doctor’s statement as proof of sickness. If you are able to go to the doctor, you are able to come to work.

Personal Days:
Each employee will receive 104 personal days a year. They are called Saturdays & Sundays.

Bereavement Leave:
This is no excuse for missing work. There is nothing you can do for dead friends, relatives or co-workers. Every effort should be made to have non-employees attend the funeral arrangements in your place. In rare cases where employee involvement is necessary, the funeral should be scheduled in the late afternoon. We will be glad to allow you to work through your lunch hour and subsequently leave one hour early.

Bathroom Breaks:
Entirely too much time is being spent in the toilet. There is now a strict three-minute time limit in the stalls. At the end of three minutes, an alarm will sound, the toilet paper roll will retract, the stall door will open, and a picture will be taken. After your second offense, your picture will be posted on the company bulletin boa rd under the ‘Chronic Offenders’category. Anyone caught smiling in the picture will be sectioned under the company’s mental health policy.

Lunch Break: (Love this one)
* Skinny people get 30 minutes for lunch, as they need to eat more, so that they can look healthy.
* Normal size people get 15 minutes for lunch to get a balanced meal to maintain their average figure.
* Chubby people get 5 minutes for lunch, because that’s all the time needed to drink a Slim-Fast.

Last inspection- still in Cateel, Davao Oriental we went side trip buying some coal (oling) at the nearby barrios. We saw a twin. They were a month old and were born just at their home by some comadrona (hilot). They were thin and malnourished. I even suspect one to have hydrocephalus (Did I spell it right? I hope so). My heart is like torn to see such sight. Asking their mom if she breastfeeds, and she said, “no” and the formula that she use was that for the grown ups. Lucky to those people who have everything to feed their children and the ability to send them to hospitals.

Hoping good on them. Be happy.

Our house is a walking distance from the grocery and so yesterday I went out to buy some items. On my way at the overpass I saw a badjao (curly and bronze-like hairs with brown complexion) and her child, pale and thumb sucking, as if the child has not taken any milk for days. I couldn’t understand what I was feeling. As a mother, I don’t want to see a child starving. Seeing the thing with the Badjao mother who doesn’t seem to care about her child just like using her child so people will show pity and spare them some coin. Grrrrr. For disappointment I hurried so I will not lengthen the agony of seeing that child but the peoples murmuring run through my eardrum

Then another Badjao mother-child at the foot of the overpass, pulling her child limbs. These people are uneducated and beg all the time because they have nothing to buy some food for themselves. They need our governments help.

When I finished my shopping and pass again the overpass the Badjaos were gone, maybe some authority picked them and maybe just some sent them away.

Have you ever been to an IP Village? As in Indigenous Peoples Village of Sto. Tomas Davao del Norte? I just wanted to share to you the joys of seeing how happy people, though they live uplands, away from the city life.

Hesitantly, I spoke to an aeta mother, I was surprised that she knows how to speak bisaya, I thought she won’t mind me because they have their own tribal language. Thank you that I tried, she told me that they are happy knowing that the government will be putting up a Multi Purpose Building and Water System (Wind Mill) aside from the Rehabilitation and Improvement of San Jose-Talos Road (4.22 kms) and the San Jose Bridge dedicated especially for the Aetas through the effort of DAR-MinSSAD Project.

I hope these projects will do them well.

I’m not feeling really well thinking about my lost package huhuhuhuh *sobs*. My aunt from Saudi sent me that for a birthday present. She hand it to a colleague who is going home for vacation and send it to Post Office. Hayyyyyy. It was sent last March 28, 2008 and it should have arrived 2-3 days after but until now, there’s none. I am really dismayed. I am not hopeless I will still wait; hope I am waiting for something. And guess what’s inside that box? It’s just a digital camera and some chocolates. Hayyyyy.. *sigh* There’s nothing I can do but sigh and wait for hundred years. Yes I know, too bad for me. Anyways, for whatever purpose it may be, may it serve them best? Good luck for myself *grins* *sobs* hehhehe anyways, we’ll have to save some penny to buy that digital camera. Hahahhaha go louraine! Aja!

Hmm you must be thinking about the prime commodity which is the rice. But who I am writing here is my dear friend RICE yes his name is Rice coming from his parents names RI from Rita and CE- Ceasar. If you think you got a unique name, think again.

Something is really unusual with rice. He gives two digit number for last-two, a kind of gambling here in the Philippines, coming from lottery results – its last two digits, great kid people who actually hear him utter the numbers do win. That was before, he don’t say any gambling numbers since people ask him frequent. I am not one of them. I am not into gambling. My mom will spank me from her grave, would you like that?

Aside that, this kid is special. He can actually say his ABC and its corresponding images like for A – Apple, B – Ball and so on when he was one only year old! Right now just before 3 years old he can actually write. Really amazing despite their situation. His father selling banana-q and mother helping his father. That’s how they sustain their everyday life. His mom sits down with him every afternoon to study. I wish Zaina grows like him.

He is not only mentally gifted but also he has that wonderful personality. Such a sweet kiddo.
